Josh and Ashley wanted to bring their bike to the engagement session. Really it is his bike, but you know how that goes. We spent the time at a popular part of Rock Cut State Park. They will be married later this summer.

Country barn winter engagement session

Posted on March 7, 2013January 26, 2017 AdminScottLeave a commentPosted in Blog, Engagement session, Uncategorized

We went out to the barn where Ethan and Courtney will hold their reception for their engagement session. While it was 25 degrees outside, we were able to get a little break from the wind by going inside. They found me through a listing on Decidio. I liked the way we wrote the date on […]

Sushi Dinner Engagement

I first met Tara and Tom when they invited me over for diner. My suggestion was that we do something for their engagement session that represented them. We talked religion and politics. (you know the 2 things you are not supposed to discus.) They were naturals in the kitchen and naturals in front of the […]

Jake & Ericka first met me at their friend Stephanies wedding, and as it was, Stephanie will be a bridesmaid to Ericka. We met at Blumen Gardens for their session and, even though it was cold we still took plenty of time to enjoy the shop. They will be married next August.

Country girls engagement

Posted on June 13, 2012 AdminScottLeave a commentPosted in Blog, Engagement session, Uncategorized

Michelle grew up on a farm, and like many it stays in their roots. So when she told me she was looking for a country sheik look, I knew what we were after. I met up with her and Travis at a gas station south of town and ventured off to an old abandoned barn.

Planning our wedding at Klehm Arboretum

Posted on May 26, 2012 AdminScottLeave a commentPosted in Engagement session, Uncategorized

Jenny and Eric walked the path to find the prettiest places at Klehm Arburetum. Jennys favorite feature was the butterfly gardens as she mentioned them several times. By the time we made it there, there were no butterflies to be found. Butterflies tend to like Asters and Golden Rod. It seemed we might have been […]

It feels like home.

Pete and Erin went back to the lake where she grew up for their engagement session. They shared their story through photos and video as we spent the afternoon together. There is something peaceful about fishing and picking berrys out in this rural section of Wisconsin. You can see their love of nature as much […]

The question came after dinner

Posted on May 23, 2012 AdminScottLeave a commentPosted in Engagement session, Uncategorized

Lyndi and Steve met their first day of orientation in college. They have in that time discovered all kinds of unique ways to communicate together. When they both are wanting to not make a decision on something, the last to touch their

Justin & Cara wanted to head back to the place where they got engaged at Buckingham Fountain in Millennium park. We spent about 3 hours walking around downtown Chicago and finished with the skyline glowing in all its brilliance at dusk. They will be getting married in August.

A little about Scott

20 years ago I would start my Saturdays watching This Old House before heading out for that days wedding. I grew up in a 90 year old house and as the oldest of 3 sons, I often got in on little fix-it projects. And while tinkering with little projects can be fun, it was nowhere near the scope that Tom Richard, and Roger took on.

A little over a year ago when the wind chill hit -45 degrees, we moved from Northern IL to Newburgh for milder winters and lower taxes. My wife got a job offer to work at Deaconess Hospital. When we were looking for our next house, we (well I) wanted the full remodeling experience. We were both supportive of each others dreams and desires in this next stage of our lives. In the past year we added a bedroom and bath as I took on Norm Abram's roll. My 3 kids have all loved swinging the sledge hammer even when it was a little heavy for them... Read more about me here
