Their wedding day now Better Together – Jack Johnson

Marc and Erica Chose the Prairie Street Brewhouse for their wedding ceremony for its industrial loft type feel. Exposed brick and beams on the interior show the character of the structure on the National Register of

Historic Places built in 1850. It’s been through many changes and even survived into the prohibition times serving as a cooling facility.

As with many buildings in the center of Rockford, the brewhouse has seen itself in less than perfect utilization. When the current managment took it over, it had 3 non paying tenants and a lot of neglect. This year, they plan to add loft apartments and 2 restaurants to the building. They also hosted 100 brides and grooms for their wedding receptions, many of whom enjoy the breeze on the deck by the Rock River.

Marc and Ericas ceremony was lead off by a close friend singing Better Together written by Jack Johnson, a favorite of the couple. The evening continued on with bouquet and garter tosses, cake cutting and guests enjoying the music as they did the cha cha circle dance together.
